Parents play a pivotal role at CCS. A vital partnership is created between the home and school with parents being viewed as the child's first and most important teachers. We need and expect your help in educating our students.

We welcome and encourage parents into our school to volunteer in a variety of ways. We conduct volunteer training sessions to ensure that all volunteers are equipped with the skills needed to be successful with our students. We offer a variety of parent training sessions throughout the year that are open to the public. We believe that impacting parents and their skills with children is a community outreach responsibility for our school and we are excited to have these types of opportunities with the parents in our community.

At the beginning of the year, we conduct a parent inventory to determine the talents and skills possessed by our parents so that you can share these activities with our students.

We conduct parent/teacher conferences three times a year. Our first conference, the parent covenant conference, is held before the first day of school. We feel strongly that we are able to better serve our students if we meet with parents ahead of time to learn as much as possible about your children. This is your time to share your hopes, dreams, and fears for your child. You will receive a student inventory ahead of time to fill out with your child. This inventory informs us of interests, likes, dislikes, hobbies, etc. of each child. The CCS covenant agreement is also signed at this conference with clearly states the responsibilities of the school, teachers, parents and students at our school. You are welcome to preview this covenant here on the website.

Because of our close partnership with parents at CCS, we feel strongly that we only want families to join our school if they are comfortable with our philosophy of educating the whole child. We consider parents to be our closest partners and want all of the energy in that partnership to be focused on the children at CCS. We will not accept any admission applications unless parents have attended an open house session with the Director, Joy Warner, for an extensive presentation about the philosophy of our school.
