Children's Community School was opened in 2001 and is a North Carolina charter school. We have the goal of creating an innovative, alternative public school option for the families in our community. Private schools are available in our community, but we believe that more educational alternatives should be available to all children.

Open enrollment for the 2007-2008 school year will begin in October, 2006 and end in January 2007. There are "sibling" registration forms available at the front desk for parents to pick up, complete and turn in at open enrollment to hold the sibling's slot by December 31, 2006. The sibling forms will have "sibling" written in the corner rather than a lottery number. Prospective parents should attend an OPEN HOUSE for more information and application instructions.

For the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 school year, a child must be five years old on or before Oct. 16 to enroll in Kindergarten. For the 2009-2010 school year, the NC State Legislature has changed this requirement. For the 2009-2010 school year, a child must be five year old on or before Aug. 31, 2009 to enroll as a Kindergarten student.

Children's Community School will not discriminate against any student on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender, or disability. Except as required by law, the school will not limit admission to students on the basis of intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, athletic ability, disability, race, creed, gender, national origin, religion, or ancestry.
